Future Map 10 - worth a visit!

Checked out the latest emerging talent from the UAL yesterday and was surprised at the level of talent in the sense that this was creativity that was allowing the audience to participate. In some cases to the belittlement of the viewer albeit in a very humorous way. I had a giggle or two, three is just inappropriate. For details of this exhibition click here. Definitely worth a gawp!

Typographic Axis Maps

curb your vanity

Reminds me of a story from a friend, him and his group of friends were carting crates of drink through town back to his, one particular member of the group had fallen behind and no one was quiet sure what had happened to said friend. When the group slowed down to allow the friend to catch up, it seems that this particular friend had been checking out his reflection in every car, window, door, shed! Somebody had been using quiet a bit of Mr Muscle, I think he worked as a window cleaner!

Abandoned Detroit by Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre Photography

There is something very beautiful about images of abandoned buildiings, none more so than these grandiose abandoned buildings of Detroit where a third of all buildings are currently abandoned. In fact, I read about houses being for sale for one dollar - now thats a bargain, one way ticket to Detroit please!

Rina Castelnuovo, Israel, for The New York Times.

The importance of press photography can be seen in this striking shot of a Jewish man throwing wine at a Palestinian woman, the exact moment the image is captured shows the sheer hatred this man possesses. One of the prize winners for last years World Press Photography. Click here to see more.

Timba Dept.

Timba Smits is a one man show, taking his inspiration from all things vintage, his work reflects a different era but transcribes to products and people today. I love these quirky, fun graphics and its no wonder he has such a huge well recognised client base. To view more click here.
